It's basically realistic fog effects and it means you get misty mornings and billowing smoke from bonfires. We've seen from the preview footage that the Volumetric Fog looks absolutely incredible so this is sure to be something to dial up if you've got the requisite hardware. Far Cry Primal Video SettingsĪs you can see there's not exactly a great deal to mess around with but Ubisoft has certainly got most the important bases covered here. If you’ve played Far Cry 4 then, spoiler, these are going to be a very familiar set of graphics options, with a few new additions to hopefully ensure Far Cry Primal is the best looking Far Cry yet.
Far cry primal pc port Pc#
As ever with a Ubisoft PC port you’d do right to cast a watchful eye over its optimisation, and rest assured we’ll have plenty of performance breakdowns and benchmark videos over the coming days.įor now though we’ve got our neanderthal mitts on the various graphics options available in Far Cry Primal for PC users to tweak. Ie A demanding game with beautiful Graphics that scales well with low end hardware, yet demands high performance for the good reason of being extremely nice to look at, along with regular updates and a ongoing dialog with players to improve the game, it is a proper push the envelope PC game in the same way the Witcher 3 and Crysis 1 + 3 where / are.Console gamers have been strutting their stuff in Far Cry Primal’s prehistoric wilderness already this week, but PC players have just a few more days until they can join the fray. I know exactly where you coming from but ROTR is actually something we should encourage (not the microtransaction). The xbone version is a legendary port they did some very heavy optimising to make it work so well on that system, this doesn't mean the PC version is terrible just the Xbone verison is really really good.
Far cry primal pc port Patch#
It's just had it's 4th patch (one about every week since release) which has added options etc due to feedback from players. it's a great port on runs well on low spec system WHEN PEOPLE USE APPROPRIATE SETTINGS! I've seen so many people complain about poor performance and are for example running very high textures on 4GB VRAM GPU when the game itself tells you that's a bad idea and you need more than 4GB.
Far cry primal pc port driver#
I'm sure the game will run better over the next few days once the driver is released, but this should never happen in the first place. Especially since we were warned of this issue by TotalBiscuit over the weekend. Yes, this is a rant, but I felt it was an important one. It is inexcusable at this point to release a game and say, "Oh it will be fixed later, we promise." As enthusiasts, we pay a lot of money to enjoy our hobby at the best possible fidelity and performance and then we are met with a lazy execution such as this and most recently ROTTR. The game itself is gorgeous and from the little I've played seems fun, but If I cannot get more than optimal FPS at 1440p then what is a mid range budget gamers rig going to look like? These developers need to stop releasing games that are not optimized for the platform. It is apparent that this game, like all the other Ubisoft releases is poorly optimized and now joins the ranks of Syndicate and of course Unity. Not because the game runs really poorly on my system, but that I cant even surpass 65 FPS on my $2,000 rig.
After 5 minutes of playing the game on my 6600k 980TI setup I was incredibly disappointed. I recently launched Farcry Primal after preloading it yesterday evening and even though I had my reservations about Ubisoft's past I still took the plunge.
